United Gas Derivatives Company was founded in 2002 in Port Said Governorate with the purpose of processing rich gas streams sourced from various upstream concessions in the Nile Delta and the East Nile Delta offshore areas, aiming to produce propane, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and condensate.
UGDC markets commercial propane to the domestic market to support the petrochemical sector. The company possesses the necessary infrastructure for storage, import, and export operations at its Damietta facility, while LPG and condensate are directed into the pipeline network managed by EGPC for local use. Damietta facilities are also employed to import commercial propane for petrochemical sector contracted companies when required, then stored in refrigerated tanks before being transported to Port Said. Additionally, Damietta jetty is utilized for the import of very large gas carriers (VLGC) of LPG for EGPC, facilitating direct transfer to Tanta.
