UGDC’s Continuous Safety Journey in 2025:

  • UGDC has achieved 5.7 million safe work hours with zero Lost Time Injuries (LTIs) from January 2023 to December 31, 2025. This performance significantly surpasses the 2024 global benchmark LTI rate of 0.77, as reported by the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP).
  • UGDC won First Place – Division 1 for Safety Performance in 2024, as ranked by the American Gas Processors Association (GPA)—a prestigious recognition reflecting the depth of its corporate safety culture and the dedication of all employees.
  • Periodic audits are conducted on contractors to ensure compliance with UGDC safety requirements. In addition, UGDC held the Contractor HSE Forum in 2025.
  • UGDC considers its people the cornerstone of its safety journey. In 2025 alone, the company delivered 1,064 training hours covering a wide range of occupational safety and health topics, alongside quarterly Safety Day campaigns focusing on Life-Saving Rules and Process Safety Fundamentals.
  • In 2025, UGDC successfully completed the five-year HAZOP revalidation for the PS NGL Plant and Damietta facilities, along with associated LOPA workshops.
  • The company boasts a long-standing record of standardized excellence, having been certified with a range of internationally accredited ISO certifications since 2008, including: ISO 9001 for Quality Management System, ISO 14001 for Environmental MS, ISO 45001 for Occupational Health & Safety MS, ISO 50001 for Energy MS, ISO 39001 for Road Traffic Safety MS, and ISO 17025 for international accreditation for the company’s laboratory.
  • In 2025 UGDC successfully rolled out the “Matters Safe Driving” campaign, alongside the health campaign “Your Wellbeing Journey” reflecting its comprehensive approach that prioritizes employee safety and well-being.
  • UGDC’s leadership extends beyond operational performance into innovation. The initiative “Improving Risk Awareness Through Risk Visualization” was selected as one of the top three continuous improvement projects within Eni’s global operations, out of 13 participating projects. The initiative was also honored by the Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS) as one of the top three HSE projects. UGDC has adopted Risk-Based Process Safety systems in line with CCPS. To align with global best practices, it uses performance monitoring with leading and lagging indicators per API, in line with IOGP standards, enabling effective benchmarking locally and internationally.

  • UGDC has implemented the Barrier Management Framework to efficiently manage Major Accident Hazards. The company began the process by identifying MAH and completed the Bowtie Analysis to identify Safety Critical Elements and Safety-critical tasks to enhance process safety prevention and mitigation measures.
