Process Safety Management Overview
UGDC has implemented the CCPS Risk-Based Process Safety Management Systems in line with the EGPC Process Safety Management Program Standard. To align with global best practices, UGDC has chosen to monitor its process safety performance to include the leading and lagging indicators recommended by API RP 754 and IOGP 456. This will enable the company to benchmark its performance both locally and internationally.
Process Risk Management
UGDC has adopted the Barrier Management Model Framework, which outlines the requirements for the Barrier Management process throughout its asset’s life cycle. It also includes assurance processes to measure performance standards, assess failings, and improve Barrier Management. The framework ensures that UGDC assets are maintained to remain fit for purpose and that the risks of Major Accident Events are reduced to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).
Process Safety Fundamentals (PSFs)
UGDC has implemented the IOGP Process Safety Fundamentals (PSFs) to help minimize fatal and high-severity process safety events. PSFs are focused on individuals working in front-line operations and maintenance and are based on data to highlight situations that have the highest potential to result in process safety event fatalities.
